Anatomic teaching models
The branch provides you with anatomical teaching models that are important for studying and preparing for examinations in medicine. Around 300 different anatomical models (mostly SOMSO models), plastinates, disc plastinates and X-ray images are available for use in approximately 600 copies.
Who for?
The anatomical teaching models are available to all users of the University Library. They are particularly important for medical students.
Usage
All anatomical teaching models can be borrowed on a daily basis for use in the information centre and reading room of the branch. You will find them presented in the display cases in the Information Centre on the ground floor. You can select the models there directly. It is not possible to order or reserve items. Please contact the colleagues at the desk in the branch information centre.
Digital collection
An overview of the collection of anatomical teaching media can be found in the object and multimedia database heidICON. The anatomical teaching media are listed there individually with images.
Cooperation with the Institute of Anatomy and Cell Biology
The collection of anatomic teaching models is owned by the Institute of Anatomy and Cell Biology at Heidelberg University. The collection is stored and made accessible via the branch of the University Library in Neuenheimer Feld.
