You can order articles from journals and anthologies of the University Library and articles from journals of the Medical-Scientific Library Mannheim via our online catalogue HEIDI. You will find a HEDD order button in the results list of your search in HEIDI which you can use to log in with your UniID and password or HEIDI ID. Then fill in the order form.

Please note that the University Library makes numerous journals available online as e-journals or anthologies as e-books, from which you can retrieve articles directly. Articles that are already available electronically can therefore not be ordered via EDD.

In order to be able to plan our workload, we have to limit the daily order quantity per user to a maximum of 10 orders. The volume limit is a maximum of 50 pages per volume (not per article). Please bear this limit in mind when placing your orders.

Some of the journals and books from which you can order articles are available for loan, i.e. they may be on loan at the time of your order. In this case, you have the option of placing a hold on the relevant title in the order form. Depending on the loan period, we will then make the article available to you at a later date and inform you when it will be available.

You can access the documents you require via your account enquiry. If you have entered an e-mail address when ordering, you will also receive a URL in the notification e-mail where you can access the ordered article directly. It is also possible to receive your order via e-mail and to receive files prepared for immediate printing. For copyright reasons, we must delete files from our WWW server two days after collection or six days after delivery.

We will endeavour to provide you with the requested article as soon as possible (i.e. within 24 to 72 hours on working days, depending on the location of the magazine). Please note that our holdings are generally available for loan and cannot always be made available immediately for the delivery service, so that longer delivery times may occur in individual cases. If you have entered an e-mail address in the order form, we will notify you in good time if we are unable to deliver or, in the case of a reservation, if we will deliver at a later date.
