About Martin
After studying History, German and English at the Universities of Freiburg i. Br. and Dublin (Ireland), research assistant at the Department of History at the University of Freiburg. From 2005 research assistant and lecturer at the Institute of History at the HU Berlin. 2009 PhD in Modern History with the thesis "Populäre Geschichtsschreibung. Historiker, Verleger und die deutsche Öffentlichkeit (1848-1900)".
2008 Volunteer in the editorial department “Biographical Encyclopaedias” at the publishing house Walter de Gruyter, Munich. After that, library traineeship at the Technical Information Library/University Library Hanover and the Bavarian State Library Munich. Since 2010 research librarian at Heidelberg University Library.
