Publishing in the natural and medical sciences
Content: | It is common amongst young academics of the natural and medical sciences to publish first articles in scientific journals additional to their dissertation. Within the frame of this session we will discuss questions regarding these two subjects. How and where to publish my dissertation? How to choose a suitable journal for my manuscript? What are bibliometric codes like the Journal Impact Factor? How to ensure the widest possible distribution of my publication? Open access - an option for me? And which kind of support is offered by the University? Why should I publish my research data and what options do I have to do so? Consultant: Dr. Jochen Apel is head of the Branch Library Neuenheim for the medical and natural sciences, subject specialist for physics, mathematics, geography and geosciences. He specialises in research data management, electronic publishing, bibliometry and open access. Registration: Please contact Dr. Apel via email to make an appointment. |
