Folia Historiae Artium is an annual that has appeared since 1964. Originally issued by the Commission on Art Theory and History of Art of the Polish Academy of Sciences, since 1995 it has been published by the Commission on Art History of the Polish Academy of Arts and Sciences in Krakow (new series, with separate volume numbering). The journal publishes extensive papers on global and Polish art history ranging from the early Middle Ages till the present, reviews, polemics and miscellanea (e.g. obituaries). A substantial part of the published texts is made up of papers previously read at the Commission’s meetings by Polish and foreign art historians, including young scholars and doctoral students. Papers are published in Polish, English, German, French and Italian.
