What's in Heidelberg E-Journals?
Heidelberg E-Journals is a collection of academic full text e-journals. Our e-journals are mostly online versions of current print subscriptions owned by any of the libraries on the Heidelberg Campus. Many titles are purchased through library consortia. E-journal administration for the Heidelberg Campus is centralized at the University Library. The University Library and the Faculty/Department/Hospital Libraries cooperate to share the costs and to secure campus-wide access to Heidelberg E-Journals.
Search
You can search Heidelberg E-Journals
via Elektronische Zeitschriftenbibliothek Heidelberg (EZB)

Availablity is signalled by "traffic lights": green light = full text is freely available on the internet; amber light = full text access is restricted to members of Heidelberg University; amber and red light = full text access is restricted to members of Heidelberg University and to particular volumes of the relevant journal.
via HEIDI (Online Catalogue for Heidelberg Library Information System)
Search simultaneously for print and online journals. Search criteria include title keyword and ISSN. Please check the box “nur Zeitschriften, Zeitungen und Serien/periodicals only” in the HEIDI search mask. Online journals are marked in the hitlist as "online" (in the Englisch version of HEIDI), as "online verfügbar" (in the German version of HEIDI). Please proceed to the full title display by clicking on "online" or "online verfügbar". The link to the fulltext is indicated in the lower part of the screen under "lokale URL UB". Please note: Journals which are freely available on the Internet are accessible via Elektronische Zeitschriftenbibliothek Heidelberg (EZB) and are integrated in HEIDI by a simultaneous search. Please check the box “nur Zeitschriften, Zeitungen und Serien/periodicals only” in the HEIDI search mask.
Please use document delivery services only if immediate online access to the full text is not possible. If the particular journal volume your are looking for is not available in full text, please click the link “Parallele Ausgabe: Druckausgabe” within the HEIDI full title display and find out whether the volume is avaiblabe in print format.
Access to full texts
You can access full texts immediately via Elektronische Zeitschriftenbiblitohek Heidelberg or by clicking on the relevant link within the HEIDI record. Access is in most cases possible both on campus and from off-campus workstations.
Please note: Terms and conditions of publishers stipulate that off-campus access is reserved to authorized users students and staff of Heidelberg University and the University Hospitals.
Access control is carried out automatically via the IP number of your workstation or by personal authentication (user number/Uni-ID and password for authorized members of Heidelberg University). To get a library card with your user number please contact the colleagues at the lending departments of the University Library.
With a small minority of journals, access is controlled via a login and password distributed by the publisher (User-ID, Username). In these cases your browser will be automatically directed to a readme which gives you the necessary information. Please make a note of the User-ID and fill in the query form of the publisher accordingly. Please note: We do not have any influence on the query forms of publishers, which come in various formats. If you experience access problems please turn to our staff for help.
Display of full text
