The quarterly journal Biuletyn Historii Sztuki [Bulletin of Art History] is the oldest Polish academic periodical dedicated to art history. Established in 1932 at the Department of Architecture at the Warsaw University of Technology (and initially titled "Biuletyn Naukowy" [Scholarly Bulletin]), following the WW II it was published by the State Institute of Art (later: Art Institute of the Polish Academy of Sciences, IS PAN). Articles published in the journal, representing varied methodological approaches, deal with the most important issues in Polish and foreign art history, from the Middle Ages up until today. Additionally, the journal publishes reviews of important exhibitions and the literature, as well as reports of academic conferences, and commemorates distinguished art historians. Papers appear in Polish (with extensive summaries in English) or in English, German, French, and Italian. All papers undergo a double-blind peer review process.
