Digital Books in Egyptology and Classical Archaeology by Request – Make a Wish!
For more than 70 years Heidelberg University Library has maintained the focus of its collection on “Classical Archaeology” and “Egyptology” supported by the German Research Foundation (DFG). Apart from collecting a wide range of printed and electronic media, the task is to make retro-digitized historical prints on this subject available online.
Although the collection comprises more than 120,000 art historical resources it may be the case that a certain title is lacking or a book has not yet been digitized. In such cases you can now send us your “Books by Request” and we will arrange the acquisition or digitization free of charge.
Acquisition Request
If you cannot find your requested title in our HEIDI-OPAC, we look forward to your acquisition request.
- If you have a library user ID of Heidelberg University Library, you can send us your acquisition and reservation request for Egyptology or for Classical Archaeology.
- Without a library user card of Heidelberg University Library you can send us an acquisition and notification request for Egyptology or for Classical Archaeology. We will contact you as soon as the book is available and ready to order via interlibrary loan / Subito.
Digitization Request
Please send an email containing your digitization request to Dr. Maria Effinger and include precise information concerning the title.
The following titles can be digitized:
- Books that are in the public domain, i.e. whose authors have been dead for more than 70 years.
- You yourself are the author and assign the simple right of use for digitization of an essay or a monograph to us. If applicable the copyright has to be checked with the publisher.
- Other works, but only if the copyright has been verified with the author and the publisher.
We are happy to support you with copyright matters.
